Workshop Technician - Cable Assembly - Aberdeen, Scotland
We are looking for a Workshop Technician to join our Cable Assembly Workshop within the MacArtney UK team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working within a busy workshop environment, and will have experience in a similar role in the past.
Position
• Wiring and moulding of cable and connectors.
• Reading and understanding wiring diagrams.
• To build a knowledge of connector types and their usage (surface or subsea application).
• To build a knowledge of cable types and understand usage of different conductor types.
• Use of the mixing machine for two part polyurethane.
• Hand mixing of 2 part polyurethane (different grades).
• Knowledge of relevant solvents and primers required as part of the moulding process with regards to their application and safe handling.
• Cable inspection and writing subsequent reports.
• Usage of all electrical test and measurement equipment required to carry out daily work.
• Operation of shot blasting machine.
• Ensuring your quality of work is kept to the highest standard at all times.
Profile
• Ability to work with a team environment.
• Self motivated and confident
Practical Experience
• Ideally a minimum of 2 years experience working in a similar role.
• Soldering experience essential
